As a member of Ottobock North America’s Prosthetics Sales department, the Associate Territory Manager will be a hands-on apprenticeship position facilitated by the Executive Territory Manager & Regional Sales Manager where the successful incumbent will be taught, coached with the anticipation to lead their own territory in the future. The individual will learn how to increase sales, penetrate markets, and generate maximum returns for themselves and the company. In addition, they will learn how to handle many of the more difficult problems in marketing, such as explaining to prospects the technical aspects of Ottobock’s products. During the apprenticeship period (approximately 1-2 years), the individual will learn how to “put it all together” and derive self-satisfaction and growth from achieving weekly, monthly and yearly objectives and growing within the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization.
  • Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience, ideally within general sales roles.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in sales and strength in build and drive strong customer relationships.
  • Self-starter who can independently prioritize initiatives as well seek out sales opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills and drive to achieve sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Positive, customer-centric, motivated attitude with a strong ownership mentality.
  • Ability to travel within pre-defined sales territory.
  • College degree required
  • Must live in NYC area (Manhattan, Long Island)

Compensation Data

Salary range disclosure: $65-90k + variable commission
