We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team in Austin, TX (hybrid work schedule)
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Will prepare and process multi-state and Canadian payroll, time system auditing, payroll maintenance and record keeping.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pay employees by calculating pay and deductions, processing garnishments/levies, and issuing checks.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies/complaints by collecting and analyzing information.
- Complies with government and company policies and conducts internal auditing of all payroll records
- Maintains accuracy and resolves problems associated with benefits, W-2s, unemployment and withholding tax.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
- Maintaining Payroll related tax accounts including registration, termination and updates.
- Assists with preparing and reconciling journal entries and accruals in conjunction with accounting team.
- Receives requests and maintains accurate records/reports/accruals for PTO and float time.
- Processes account funding of 401K,HSA, FSA and any other employee led contribution accounts
- Helps the Finance department as needed, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experienced in Multi-State Payroll and Tax
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion.
- Sharp attention to detail, very accurate and highly organized.
- Advanced Excel skills should include use of pivot tables, V-Lookups, as well as other moderate level functions.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Windows. (SAP SuccessFactors a plus)
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite as well MS Teams.
- Works well in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.
- Critical thinking and problem solving is essential.
Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of payroll experience required.
