Summary Statement

As Head of the Transformation Office (d/f/m), you are the strategic and operational partner to the CIO, with responsibility for the entire IT project and transformation portfolio as well as the coherent further development of the enterprise architecture. In this key role, you ensure that all transformation initiatives are aligned with the IT and corporate strategy, provide transparency on progress and value contribution, and take on the technical lead for major programs. You act as the link between IT strategy, architecture, program execution, and business and IT partners, ensuring that technology sustainably creates business value.

Reporting directly to the CIO, you lead an interdisciplinary, highly qualified team and are responsible for the following areas:

  • Project & Program Management Office (PMO)

  • Enterprise & Solution Architecture

  • IT Success Management / Value Realization

  • Mergers & Acquisitions (IT-related) and Post-Merger Integration (PMI)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring an end-to-end overview of the IT transformation and project portfolio, including prioritization, governance, and progress management.

  • Strategic responsibility and operational management of enterprise and solution architecture with a focus on scalability, innovation capability, and business alignment.

  • Acting as technical lead for strategically significant transformation programs, such as cloud transformation, ERP/SAP S/4HANA, M&A, or digital manufacturing.

  • Developing and implementing a value management framework to measurably increase IT’s value contribution.

  • Advising and representing the CIO in critical project situations and serving as a sparring partner for business executives.

  • Establishing standards, KPIs, and best practices for effective, transparent, and scalable transformation governance.

  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of project, architecture, and transformation experts.

  • Actively contributing to the strategic IT roadmap as part of the CIO leadership team.

 

Qualifications

  • A completed degree in (business) informatics, business administration, or a comparable qualification.

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in senior roles in IT and/or business transformation, ideally with global responsibility.

  • Expertise in enterprise architecture, large-scale program management, cloud transformation, M&A, and value delivery.

  • Strong strategic, technical, and organizational thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at C-level.

  • Proven experience leading interdisciplinary and international teams within complex matrix organizations.

  • Business-fluent English; German or another foreign language is an advantage.
