As a Lead Software Engineer/Architect, you will work with our internal development team, external agencies, and stakeholders to build and extend our website platform. You will be responsible for managing the overarching solution architecture, mentoring and supporting internal and external team members in their daily tasks, and managing technical debt. 
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive Architecture and Code Quality: define the overarching architecture for our website platform, mentor and support team members (both internal and external), and ensure smooth development processes. 
  • Versatility: Understand and work with both frontend and backend technologies. 
  • Interdisciplinary Work: Collaborate closely with various business stakeholders, understand their needs, and help them find the best solutions. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously aim for improvement to advance yourself, the team, and the company. Learn with us, from us, and teach us. Ask questions, challenge assumptions, experiment, and embrace failures to achieve success alongside your teammates.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, coding academy, bootcamp completion, or a proven track record in the field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering. 
  • Belief in the power of teamwork to achieve great things. 
  • Required experience with building websites using TypeScript and React; knowledge of Java is a plus. 
  • Experience integrating external vendors (e.g., Algolia, Contentful, Google Analytics). 
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with internal and external software engineers. 
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices such as TDD, Continuous Delivery, and Kanban. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English. 
  • Willingness to apply even if not meeting all the qualifications.
