Summary Statement

 

Join us in building the future of eCommerce at Ottobock. We’re a small agile team that is solely focused on bringing a better purchasing experience to our customers, which are small to large orthopedic clinics around the world. We need your help to build a new global flagship (web) shop and EDI interfaces for our larger customers to interface with us directly.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Product Development: You will implement new features and improve existing ones for our platform. To be successful, you need strong collaboration with your colleagues
  • Production Readiness: You guarantee high operability and resilience of the platform by continuously improving the reliability and monitoring of our systems
  • Versatility: You are interested in a variety of software engineering tasks related to backend, frontend and DevOps
  • Interdisciplinary Work: You’ll be working closely together with our business and our customers for integrations. You’re expected to understand their needs and help them find the best solution
  • Continuous Improvement: You continuously aim for improvement to bring yourself and the company forward. You’re expected to learn with us, from us and teach us. You’ll ask questions, challenge assumptions, make experiments, and fail your way to success along-side your teammates
  • Bring your Strengths: Show us what you are good at and help us use your strengths and skills to build a stronger team. You’ll do so by taking ownership of our platform and taking an active part in planning and building it

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in computer science, alternatively completion of coding academy or bootcamp or proven track record in the field
  • 2+ years experience working in software engineering
  • You believe that great things are achieved by a team rather than by an individual
  • Experience with Java, CI Pipelines, Kubernetes and Cloud. Typescript and React are a plus
  • Experience with software engineering practices such as TDD, Continuous Delivery and Kanban
  • Very good communication skills in English
  • You’re not afraid to apply even if you do not tick all the boxes

  • Frontend: Typescript/React 
  • Backend: Java/Spring Boot/JPA. ElasticSearch, Algolia , MySQL
  • Operations: Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm

In addition, we take active steps to keep our tech clean and remove deprecated parts from our systems. We use Kanban as our agile methodology.
