Summary Statement

You will be responsible for the technical and disciplinary management of the “Accounting Principles” area

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Introduction of new accounting standards (IFRS and HGB) as well as methodological and substantive further development of the group-wide accounting principles and the further evolution of the IFRS Accounting Manual and Implementation Guideline
  • Independent, global conception of a segment management structure from corporate accounting into the Ottobock national subsidiaries to ensure uniform reporting processes in accordance with the requirements of IFRS
  • Responsibility for technical analysis of the IFRS and determining the impact on the Ottobock Group and performance indicators
  • Further development of accounting-related processes, systems and responsibility for the IFRS reporting process (especially hedge accounting according to IFRS 9)
  • Content-related support of DPR audit procedures and ongoing contact for the auditor
  • Training of the legal entities of the Ottobock Group for new IFRS and HGB standards
  • Point of contact for technical accounting queries (IFRS and HGB) within the Ottobock Group
  • Goodwill impairment analysis according to IFRS
  • Transaction PPA, M&A. Support (incl. Identification of Acct. differences and guidance on OB accounting approach)
     

Profile

  • Degree in business administration with a focus on accounting according to HGB and IFRS
  • Several years of professional experience, ideally in a listed company or an audit firm
  • Extensive expertise in IFRS and HGB
  • A broad expertise in finance & controlling
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge and affinity for IT applications in accounting (e.g. SAP R3, SAP-SEM BCS)
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as a structured, creative and solution-oriented approach
  • Outstanding conceptual ability and quick comprehension
  • Team spirit, communication skills and a pronounced personal initiative
  • Excellent English skills
  • High willingness to take on responsibility in the context of unspecific defined framework conditions
