We are currently looking for a Board Eligibile Prosthetist Orthotist in Frederick, MD.  Under guidance of Clinical Manager or CPO, the Board Eligible Clinician provides exceptional patient care experience and is involved in all stages of design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of prosthetic and/or devices related to patients’ needs.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality orthotics, prosthetics, and professional services in relation to patient care.
  • Formulate design of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices with guidance.
  • Provide direction and guidance to technicians responsible for fabrication of orthoses and/or prosthesis for patient.
  • Fabricate as needed to assure, quality, fit function, timely delivery, or responsiveness to individual patient need.
  • Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.
  • Evaluate prosthetic/orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work and perform outcome measures as appropriate.
  • Instruct patient in use of device.
  • Provide post-delivery service and adjustments for assigned patients.
  • Specify information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
  • Maintain all patient charts and records of care and service, ensuring they are current and complete each day.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with physicians, therapists, patients, and other referral sources.
  • Achieve and maintain professional knowledge and technical skills required including current "state of the art" knowledge, procedures, components, and materials including application based on diagnosis.
  • Identify and create improvements to processes to promote efficiency and productivity.
  • Comply with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with bloodborne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and to work effectively with a wide range of people, including vendors, suppliers, providers, co-workers, and management.
  • Aptitude to interact with clinical and non-clinical personnel, patients, and caregivers professionally and respectfully.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively, resolve conflict and problems with a team approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks to completion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in resolving issues.
  • Proficient computer skills; Proficient in MS Office and databases.
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Master’s in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics.
  • 1 year of experience in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with no limitations; have a reliable vehicle; maintain automobile insurance in accordance with state law.
