Summary Statement

We are currently looking for a Clinical Specialist in Custom Silicone to join our professional Clinical services team located in Burlington, Ontario. This role does require travel and can work as a hybrid work arrangement where time is spent on the road, at a home office and also onsite in Burlington, Ontario.                                                                                                                                                                                  

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care as well as cooperative care for Custom Silicone Services to local and North American clinics.  Most importantly, this person will be responsible for assessing, casting, fabricating, fitting and dispensing of devices.  Additional duties include maintaining complete patient records, coordinate billing and liaison with the Technical Services department on device design and fabrication as well as working with Sales and Marketing to develop new opportunities for these services.

Clinical 

  • Provide patient assessment, casting and measurement, fitting and fabrication of custom silicone products.
  • Evaluate and provide precise cast modification.
  • Maintain confidential clinical records on each patient using our company software.  All paper records to be securely locked.
  • Schedule appointments
  • Communicate with local physicians and therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a mobile casting kit for remote patent assessments. 
  • Stay current by establishing regular contact with Duderstadt Silicone lab and understanding on competitor activities / practices.

Account Management 

  • Partner with Sales team to seek out new clinics to educate clinic professionals on our silicone services.
  • Manage the accounts once the introduction has been made.
  • Follow up with accounts on a regular basis to identify opportunities and potential patients who could benefit from silicone products and services.
  • Promote the use of silicone products and services to clinic professionals through customer visits, sales literature and product demonstrations.
  • Conduct training and in-service presentations to clinic professionals.
  • Participate in trade shows when needed.
  • Use company CRM on a regular basis updating customer information for the purpose of identifying trends, competitor data and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain product demo database for tracking purposes.

Administrative

  • Generate estimates for devices to be fabricated.
  • Provide support documentation for third party paying agencies in order to secure funding.
  • Provide final billing information to Accounts Receivable so that invoices can be generated.
  • Partner with the Sales Team to develop additional referral sources for custom silicone products.
  • Provides regular feedback and recommendations on process improvements that will positively impact sales and marketing results.

Qualifications

  • Must have a University, College or technical school diploma related to P&O.
  • Certified as Prosthetist or Orthotist is an asset.
  • Experience working with Silicone techniques an asset.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting would be an asset.
  • PC skills – MS Office, SAP, Adobe, Photoshop
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Accuracy with colour matching a requirement and/or a background in colour theory/fine arts as asset.
  • Strong organizational skills – able to work independently.
  • Overnight travel is a requirement of this job on an as-needed basis.
  • Must have a vehicle, kilometers to be reimbursed.
