We are currently looking for an Orthotic Sales Representatives to join our expanding Sales Team in Canada.  The sales representative will ideally be in either Montreal, Quebec or Ottawa, Ontario and be responsible for a territory consisting of Quebec and Eastern Ontario. The intent is to have this role grow to have National responsibilities as knowledge base and skills grow. This candidate must be fully bilingual in both English & French (verbal and written).  This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive compensation package and company sponsored benefits.  

Duties & Responsibilities

The position is responsible for the retention and profitability of existing accounts as well as prospecting new accounts, focusing on Ottobock’s Orthotic product portfolio within the Orthotist, retail, and Physician sales channels. The individual will be expected to maximize territory growth achieved through customer visits, product demonstrations, and education to healthcare professionals in a clinical, retail, or institutional setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the sale of conventional orthotics to Certified Orthotists and off-the-shelf orthotics to retail, sporting goods, and rehabilitation facilities.  

 

Specific responsibilities and skill set includes but are not limited to –  

  • Develops and implements an annual integrated sales/business plan for the assigned territory. 
  • Achieves specific annual performance goals regarding sales calls, sales targets, and territory growth. 
  • Completes intensive training program to achieve technical proficiency on Ottobock products and services. 
  • Promotes the use of assigned products to healthcare professionals in an assigned territory through customer visits, the dissemination of sales literature and product demonstrations. 
  • Partners with Professional Clinical Services team to educate healthcare professionals on Ottobock products. 
  • Uses Salesforce on a daily basis; updating customer information, analysis of customer base for the purpose of identifying/monitoring trends, competitor data and sales opportunities. 
  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in local and regional industry meetings and trade shows. 
  • Uses communication tools including email and voicemail on a daily basis with a 24 hour response time. 
  • Completes assigned tasks by specified deadlines, including but not limited to, monthly reports, expense accounts, and all other reports requested by the management team. 
  • Maintains all company assets and product consignment in facilities. 
  • Recognizes opportunities to assist customers and direct them to qualified Ottobock personnel to properly trouble-shoot equipment and diagnose problems. 
  • Ability to work closely with other departments including but not limited to Customer Service and Marketing. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business management or another related field. 
  • Minimum 3 years commission-based sales experience, ideally conducting sales calls on medical professionals in both clinical and institutional settings. 
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating customer training sessions and workshop seminars. 
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Excellent relationship management skills. 
  • Strong PC skills with skills with: Client Relationship Management (CRM) software, MS Office and Outlook. 
  • Fully bilingual in both English & French (verbal and written) 
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to the USA for meetings.
