Duties & Responsibilities

This role is dedicated to the engineering and continuous improvement of orthopedic devices, such as prostheses and orthotics, ensuring their excellence and reliability throughout their entire life cycle.

 

Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for enhancing existing orthopedic devices.
  • Conduct cost, business, and complaint data analysis, including root cause investigations.
  • Develop engineering solutions, including creating and updating CAD models, simulations, and drawings.
  • Outline and execute verification and validation activities for necessary changes.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations and other departments to implement product improvements.
  • Lead and document Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for modifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):

  • Bachelor degree in technical field
  • 3+ years of work experience ideally in an R&D or manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and application of engineering principles with focus on mechanical engineering incl. GD&T etc.

  • Highly skilled in CAD modelling and drawing creation, Creo a plus

  • Knowledge of fiber composite material from design to process

  • Analyze, learn and understand the function of existing products

  • Skilled in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and adjusting focus as needed

  • Skilled in identifying, anticipating, analyzing and completing improvement activities.

  • Ability to collaborate with different departments as well as working independently

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
